Looking for a hockey club in London?
The short answer
If you are looking for a hockey club in south-west London and you want to actually play rather than sit on a bench, Merton is a good place to start. We run five senior league sides and more than ten junior teams from a single pitch at Harris Academy Morden. We try to be as accessible and affordable as possible – one subscription covers training, match fees, your shirt and after-match teas, with no per-game extras to find later.
You do not need your own stick, you do not need to have played before, and you do not need to commit to anything to come and try it.

All training and home matches are on the pitch at Harris Academy Morden, Lilleshall Rd, Morden, Surrey SM4 6DU.

Before you come down
Do I need my own kit?
No stick needed – we have plenty of sticks you can borrow. We advise everyone wears a mouth guard and shin pads of their own, and bring trainers and something you can run in.
I haven't played since school. Am I too rusty?
Beginners and returning players are very welcome. Thursday night training includes a Back to Hockey and beginners group, and the Boars are the club’s development side for young and returning players.
Can I try before I join?
Yes. Taster sessions are free, with membership for the season covering all sessions. Open days are on 29 August and 5 September – just get in touch and come along.
How much does it cost to join?
Early bird senior membership for 2026/27 is £325 pre-paid, which covers training, every match fee, your playing shirt and after-match teas. There is also a pay-as-you-go option at £195 plus £10 a match. Juniors start at £75.
What ages do the juniors cover?
Boys and girls from 6 to 18, in age groups from U8 through to U18. Sessions are run by qualified coaches with a club welfare officer in place. Junior matches are on Sundays.
Which league do Merton play in?
Our senior sides play on Saturdays in the London Area Leagues, and our junior teams in the London Junior Leagues. Divisions for each side are listed on the Adults page.
